Lars Von Trier is a visionary director with tremendous passion and conviction, not to mention a keen artistic eye. In “Dogville,” he created a daring film unlike any I’ve ever worked on – or seen.
It was filmed entirely on an empty soundstage with no set and minimal props. But because Lars had such a clear vision of the world he wanted to create, he was able to make it real – and he was able to inspire the actors to truly inhabit that world.
Lars challenges everyone who works with him to dig deeper and reach farther than they ever have, and it was thrilling to be part of the journey in bringing one of his films to life.
